What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with Chemists, Materials Scientists, Engineers, and Biologists to support activities including chemical analysis, device fabrication, and applications testing.
  • Perform both routine and one-off laboratory testing such as Raman Spectroscopy, LC-MS, thermal analysis and dry weight.
  • Preparation of buffers and membrane materials for reactions on small and large scales.
  • Run chemical reactions for modification of membrane materials in flow reactors, following SOPs.
  • Write up experimental findings in Electronic Lab Notebook entries and Technical reports.
  • Contribute to lab organisation, e.g. maintaining stocks of reagents and chemical waste disposal.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 3 months laboratory experience, or Science A-levels (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience.
  • Experience in wet chemistry and/or one or more of the analytical methods listed above.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Teamworking ability, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to multi-task efficiently.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in working in the biotechnology industry.
