A growing, London-based long/short investment platform is looking to add an Investment Analyst focused on US Consumer to its investment team.
This is a high-autonomy opportunity for an investor who wants to take genuine ownership of their work and play a meaningful role in a growing platform. The successful candidate will be expected to generate differentiated investment ideas, build detailed financial models, conduct fundamental research, and ultimately own and manage a portfolio of ideas.
The Role
- Focus on US Consumer equities, identifying long and short opportunities across the sector.
- Independently source and develop new investment ideas from initial thesis through to implementation.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and conduct deep fundamental company analysis.
- Develop differentiated views on companies, industries, competitive dynamics, earnings and valuation.
- Take ownership of a concentrated group of approximately 8-12 names, with a clear understanding of the associated risks and catalysts.
- Monitor positions closely and recognize when an investment thesis is developing as expected - or when it is no longer working.
- Contribute to both fundamental long/short and relative-value/pair trade opportunities.
- Track the performance of investment ideas and take accountability for outcomes.
- Work closely with senior members of the investment team while maintaining a high degree of independence and autonomy.
