We are working with a growing WealthTech business in London that is looking to hire an Investment Risk Modelling Associate to join its specialist financial modelling and analytics team.

The role sits within a highly regarded modelling function responsible for the development and maintenance of investment risk and portfolio analytics frameworks used across the business. Working closely with experienced modelling, investment and technology professionals, you will help ensure the quality, accuracy and ongoing enhancement of analytical tools that support investment decision‑making, portfolio construction and broader financial planning activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who enjoys combining quantitative analysis, investment knowledge and technology to solve practical problems. The role offers exposure to model development, risk analytics, portfolio analysis, data quality monitoring and framework governance in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.

The firm has built a strong reputation for combining investment expertise, technology and analytical rigour in innovative ways. Despite its growth, it retains an entrepreneurial and low‑ego culture where individuals are encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership and make a meaningful impact.

Some key aspects of the role will include:

  • Supporting the ongoing development, maintenance and enhancement of investment risk models and portfolio analytics frameworks.
  • Running and monitoring risk model processes to ensure analytical outputs remain robust, accurate and reliable.
  • Assisting with model validation, calibration and governance activities.
  • Helping to maintain and improve data quality controls across investment and market datasets.
  • Contributing to the development of investment analytics and reporting capabilities.
  • Working with technology and product teams to support the implementation of new modelling functionality and analytical tools.
  • Conducting investment, portfolio and risk analysis for internal stakeholders.
  • Translating complex analytical outputs into clear and accessible insights for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Researching new methodologies and techniques to enhance the firm's modelling and risk capabilities.

While our client is prioritising the person over the CV, the ideal skill set would look like the following:

  • Strong academic background with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, quantitative methods and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of investment risk, portfolio construction, asset allocation or financial markets.
  • Experience within investment analytics, risk modelling, portfolio analysis or a similar quantitative environment would be advantageous.
  • Python programming experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Naturally curious with a desire to learn and continuously improve.
  • Independent thinker with a collaborative approach.
  • CFA, FRM or other relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.

This is an opportunity to join a growing and ambitious business where quantitative analysis plays a central role in decision‑making. The successful candidate will gain exposure across investment risk, modelling, analytics and technology while working alongside a high‑calibre team in a business with significant momentum and long‑term growth plans.
