Role Summary: Our client is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month contract. This hybrid role, based at Ansty Park, offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the Record-to-Report (R2R) process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee core Record-to-Report (R2R) activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and SOX compliance.
- Review and approve VAT returns, payroll journals, e-payable reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline.
- Manage the monthly close process, including fixed asset reviews, capital expenditure analysis, and intercompany netting.
- Provide guidance to junior and GL specialists, acting as accounting subject-matter expert and R2R manager back-up.
- Partner with global site finance teams to meet SLA commitments and resolve escalated issues efficiently.
- Analyse and report key financial KPIs to management, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive process optimisation initiatives to enhance accuracy, control, and operational efficiency across finance functions.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Part or fully qualified ACCA / CIMA
- Experience in accounting role
- Experience with SAP would be an advantage
- Previous coordinating / managerial experience would be an advantage
- Solid accounting knowledge
- Team player mentality
- Keen attention to detail
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications
- SAP knowledge advantageous
- Willing to challenge processes
- Understanding of SOX beneficial
