- Key accountabilities of the role
- Control access to a highly secure Potential Explosives Site (PES), ensuring only authorised personnel and contractors are permitted entry.
- Check contractors entering site, ensuring prohibited items (such as mobile phones, food, tools and other restricted items) are declared and managed in line with site procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of personnel entering and leaving the site, ensuring full accountability and compliance with security requirements.
- Monitor and manage the site's swipe card access system, preventing unauthorised access and following security protocols.
- Carry out general administrative duties, including maintaining work orders, equipment records and operational databases.
- Process emails and update Excel trackers with site information, incidents and operational records.
- Support with raising purchase orders and basic SAP administration where appropriate.
- Key skills and experience
- Previous experience in a gatehouse, security, reception, facilities or administrative role is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict security procedures.
- Comfortable dealing with contractors and visitors in a professional manner.
- Basic IT skills, including data entry on Microsoft Excel and email.
- Experience using SAP at a basic level would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided.
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
