The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Data Security Engineer to join a high‑performing cyber security team. This is an exciting contract opportunity to play a key role in protecting sensitive data and strengthening security frameworks within a leading organisation. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data security solutions, ensuring robust protection against evolving cyber threats while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data security policies to safeguard sensitive information
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security gaps
- Design and maintain encryption, access control, and authentication systems
- Monitor network activity, detect threats, and respond to security incidents
- Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to integrate security solutions
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001
- Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong background in data protection, encryption, and security frameworks
- Hands‑on experience with firewalls, SIEM tools, and intrusion detection systems
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Desirable Certifications
- CISSP, CISM, or CEH (preferred but not essential)
