Our client, a leading global macro hedge fund, are looking to hire a Junior Inflation Trader, who will play a critical role in their investment strategy by analysing inflation trends and developing and implementing actionable insights. This role will be focused on supporting research and conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of predominantly EUR inflation.
Preferred candidates are likely to have an excellent statistical/computational academic background combined with 1-3 years experience in an inflation focused team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful and very collegiate fund with a progressive and positive working culture.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on inflation trends, economic indicators, and central bank policies.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify and evaluate investment opportunities related to inflation-linked securities (cash and derivatives).
- Provide regular reports and presentations to the investment team, highlighting key findings and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to integrate inflation insights into broader macroeconomic strategies.
- Strong academic background from a globally renowned University in a quantitative subject.
- 1-3 years experience working in an inflation focused team within a financial institution. This experience could come from a leading Hedge Fund, a sell side desk within a bank, or at a Central Bank/Statistical Office.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of global inflation dynamics, central bank policies, and macroeconomic indicators.
- Ability to translate complex economic concepts into actionable investment strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
