We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with active Security Clearance (SC) to join a project team in Manchester. This is a 6-month contract role focused on maintaining, optimising, and securing critical database environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Monitor database performance and ensure optimal availability and reliability
- Perform routine database maintenance including backups, patching, and upgrades
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime
- Implement and maintain database security, ensuring compliance with security policies
- Support data migration and integration activities across systems
- Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database efficiency
- Produce documentation and maintain accurate technical records
