Overview

Our client is a global industry leader whose diverse expertise enables them to innovate and collaborate towards sustainable design solutions for a diverse range of projects of all sizes, from complex urban developments to impactful neighbourhood initiatives in sectors like education, healthcare, defence, commercial, and residential. Due to significant growth in the water sector, they are seeking a Principal to lead on the delivery of high-quality structural engineering projects across a variety of projects across sectors. In addition, you will partner with their clients across the UK and will play a key role in exceeding their requirements through the technical delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of high‐quality structural engineering projects across multiple sectors.
  • Undertake structural design for reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures.
  • Carry out structural inspections and produce clear, accurate reports with maintenance and modification recommendations aligned to client and regulatory standards.
  • Report to the Specialist Structural Engineering Technical Lead; help develop structural knowledge, standards and capability across the team.
  • Partner with clients across the UK, ensuring technical delivery meets and exceeds their requirements.
  • Support internal opportunities in sectors beyond water and energy.
  • Collaborate effectively with civils, geotechnical and other disciplines, particularly within design & build environments.
  • Provide construction‐ready information and engage with construction teams, considering both temporary and permanent works.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to strengthen technical capability across the group.

Requirements

  • Proven structural design background covering concrete, steel and masonry.
  • Strong knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering, with awareness of other disciplines to enable effective collaboration.
  • Good understanding of construction (temporary and permanent works) and the information needs of construction teams on design & build projects.
  • Background conducting structural inspections and producing actionable, standards‐compliant reports for asset maintenance and modification.
  • Ability and desire to lead technical delivery while coaching and mentoring others.
