About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Personal Flotation Device (PFD) team in the UK. In this role, you will lead and manage certification projects across European Mark (CE), PPE Regulation (PPER), and Marine Equipment Directive (MED) programs. You will act as a technical expert and project lead, working closely with clients to ensure product compliance, drive innovation, and deliver high-quality certification services.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage certification projects from scoping through completion, including cost, timeline, and technical requirements.
- Lead client interactions, providing expert guidance on compliance, testing, and certification processes.
- Develop and coordinate test programs based on product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct or witness tests at client sites (including travel as required).
- Identify non‑compliance issues and advise clients on necessary corrective actions.
- Oversee laboratory activities and coordinate with technical teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Prepare and review technical reports, certification documentation, and follow‑up service procedures.
- Act as Project Handler and technical reviewer for assigned projects.
- Contribute to the development of new testing methods and requirements for innovative products.
- Represent the organization in technical committees, industry events, and client engagements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to engineers and laboratory staff.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial/Manufacturing Technology, Physics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in product testing, certification, or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of PPE, MED, CE marking, or related conformity standards.
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects independently.
- Solid understanding of industry challenges, regulatory frameworks, and compliance processes.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide practical, client‑focused solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with international clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel as part of project work.
- Fluent in English.
