The Senior ROV Integration & Electronics Technician is responsible for the electrical integration, maintenance, repair, testing and fault finding of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), subsea tooling and associated equipment.
The role focuses on integrating third‑party sensors and client equipment onto ROV systems, developing electrical solutions, supporting new product development and ensuring equipment is ready for deployment worldwide.
Previous ROV experience is advantageous but not essential.
We are looking for an experienced electrical technician with strong practical engineering skills and an interest in solving technical integration challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate client sensors, cameras, sonars and tooling onto ROV platforms.
- Build, modify and test electrical wiring looms and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic and communication faults.
- Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet, serial and other communication protocols.
- Maintain, service and repair ROVs and subsea equipment.
- Support design and development of new products and bespoke client solutions.
- Produce and update wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Carry out factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning.
- Provide technical support in the workshop, on client sites and offshore when required.
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and quality.
- Strong practical electrical/electronic engineering background.
- Experience fault finding electrical systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience building wiring looms, panels or harnesses.
- Competent using electrical test equipment (e. g. multimeter).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred if role requires travel).
- Experience with Ethernet, RS232, RS485, CANbus or Modbus communications.
- Knowledge of IP networking and fibre optics.
- Experience with PLCs or industrial automation.
- Hydraulic systems knowledge.
- Experience with subsea connectors and pressure testing.
- CAD electrical packages (e. g. Auto CAD Electrical or EPLAN).
