About Us

Under Fives Roundabout is a charity run Pre‑School that nurtures and inspires young children. We aim to provide the best educational and enriching environment for our young learners to allow children to reach their full potential through the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Children are encouraged to be independent in all aspects of their learning, given support where necessary and guidance to progress at their individual rate. We embrace learning from nature and experiential play to foster a love of the outdoors.

We currently have 45 part‑time and full‑time children (aged 2‑4 years old) and employ 11 full and part‑time staff. Our core hours are from 8.40am‑3.10pm, 38 weeks a year.

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager to help run our lovely preschool and toddler group based in Cambridge.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a leadership role (either as Deputy Manager or a Room Lead looking for the next step).
  • Level 3 early years qualification (or above).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within an Early Years setting.
  • EYFS and statutory framework knowledge.
  • Experience as a SENDco (or working knowledge and willing to train).
  • Experience in Tapestry (or equivalent) to be able to review and publish observations for your key children as well as reviewing posts from the team.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Good computer skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience of collating and submitting Early Years Funding data.
  • Experience of a parent‑managed pre‑school.
