An international law firm is looking for an experienced privacy and compliance specialist to take ownership of its global data protection programme during a key transition period. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract and hybrid role, with 50% office attendance in their London office. Working closely with senior leadership, this position will play a central role in strengthening governance, supporting regulatory compliance, and providing practical legal guidance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the organisation’s international privacy and data governance framework.
  • Provide expert advice on GDPR and wider global privacy regulations across business projects and operational activities.
  • Review and guide Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), identifying risks and recommending practical solutions.
  • Act as the main contact for regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and data-related enquiries.
  • Support the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, templates, and internal guidance materials.
  • Partner with legal, risk, and technology teams to strengthen information security controls and privacy compliance practices.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified lawyer with significant experience in privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of GDPR and international privacy legislation.
  • Background in implementing or managing enterprise-wide compliance frameworks within a complex or global environment.
