A prestigious national law firm is looking for an experienced Senior Risk Lawyer (Professional Indemnity) to join their team. This role offers fantastic flexibility requiring only one day per week in the office and can be located at any of the firm’s five offices across the UK.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Risk Lawyer (Professional Indemnity) role would be a fee earning lawyer who is looking to move into an in-house role, or a seasoned compliance professional with a strong background in claims handling.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Risk Lawyer (Professional Indemnity) role:
- Advising on complex client and third-party complaints and claims, including matters within the firm’s delegated claims handling authority.
- Assisting with the management of the firm’s professional indemnity insurance and supporting the annual renewal process.
- Providing clear and practical guidance on regulatory compliance issues, including those arising under the SRA Standards and Regulations.
- Supporting and leading on firmwide risk and governance initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and driving implementation.
- Developing and delivering training on governance, risk, and compliance matters.
- Contributing to the team’s strategy and objectives, ensuring alignment with the firm’s wider goals.
Skills & Experience:
- Qualification as a solicitor (with experience in litigation or property law) or extensive risk and compliance experience within a law firm.
- Experience in handling professional negligence claims and/or professional indemnity matters.
- Strong working knowledge of the SRA regulatory framework, including the SRA Code of Conduct.
- Proven ability to analyse and resolve complex compliance challenges.
