A prestigious international law firm is looking for an experienced Risk Lawyer to join their team in London. The ideal candidate for the Risk Lawyer role should have proven experience within a law firm environment with a strong understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and broader legal risk issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on a broad range of compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Advise on data protection matters, including data breaches and subject access requests.
  • Interpret and apply the SRA Code of Conduct and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Review and negotiate client terms in conjunction with Contract Lawyers.
  • Support internal teams on compliance issues such as anti-bribery, share dealing, confidentiality, and outside interests.
  • Review client engagement documentation including terms of business and conflict waivers.
  • Draft, review, and update internal risk policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Deliver firm-wide training on compliance and professional conduct.
  • Act as a liaison for regulatory queries from Conflicts, AML, and New Business Intake teams.
  • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and market practices relevant to legal risk and compliance.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • UK qualified solicitor.
  • Prior experience in a law firm or commercial legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and broader legal risk issues.
  • Proven experience in data protection law and contract review.
