A leading international law firm is looking for a Risk & Compliance Lawyer to join their London team. The Risk & Compliance Lawyer role will support the firm’s global compliance and governance functions, reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance. This role plays a critical part in advising on regulatory and legal risk issues across the firm and assisting with the development and enforcement of risk management frameworks and best practices.
Key Responsibilities for the Risk & Compliance Lawyer:
- Assist with firm engagement with legal and professional regulators.
- Support compliance for international mobility of fee-earners.
- Provide advice on complex conflicts of interest and conflict resolution.
- Advise on SRA regulatory requirements.
- Draft and update firm-wide policies (e.g., anti-bribery, insider dealing, hospitality & gifts).
- Assist with COLP internal investigations.
- Draft and revise client engagement letters and standard terms.
- Review and negotiate consultancy and supplier contracts.
- Advise on outside counsel guidelines and client-specific terms.
- Support risk and compliance elements in the establishment of new international offices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- UK-qualified solicitor with PQE experience, preferably in the risk or compliance team in a law firm environment.
- Proven experience in SRA regulatory compliance and policy development.
- Strong understanding of conflict rules and conflict resolution processes.
- Experience with contract and policy drafting.
- Knowledge of legal risk management practices in a law firm environment.
