An international law firm is looking for a Risk Analyst (Broad Role) to join its London-based Risk & Compliance team.
As a Risk Analyst (Broad Role), you will support the ongoing development of the firm’s risk management framework and assist with day-to-day compliance advisory work.
Key Responsibilities for the Risk Analyst (Broad Role):
- Acting as a first point of contact for internal compliance queries from legal and business services teams, offering clear and practical advice on a range of regulatory matters.
- Providing guidance on professional conduct obligations, including interpretation of the SRA Code of Conduct, anti-bribery measures, confidentiality requirements, and conflicts of interest.
- Supporting the Risk Team mailbox by reviewing and prioritising queries and ensuring efficient follow-up and resolution.
- Reviewing and advising on contractual documentation such as terms of engagement, auditor letters, client confidentiality clauses, and conflict waiver provisions.
- Developing specialism in specific areas of risk (e.g., data privacy, anti-money laundering, or third-party contracts) and providing training or updates to colleagues.
- Working in partnership with the Conflicts and AML teams to resolve complex business acceptance issues and support the implementation of risk controls.
- Contributing to the drafting and review of internal policies, procedures, and training content to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory standards.
- Assisting with internal risk-related investigations, client file reviews, and audit preparation.
- Advising on data protection issues such as data subject access requests and breach assessments in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Participating in cross-functional risk projects, ensuring timely progress updates and quality outputs.
- Monitoring legal, regulatory, and professional developments, and assessing their impact on the firm’s risk framework.
- Collaborating with other risk professionals to share best practices and promote a strong culture of compliance across the firm.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Solid understanding of the SRA Codes of Conduct and regulatory requirements relevant to law firms.
- Ability to analyse complex information and deliver clear, concise advice.
- Professional discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and tact.
- A collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn and share expertise with the team.
