An international law firm is looking for a Compliance Executive to join its Risk & Compliance team based in Newcastle. The Compliance Executive will work closely with the Head of Risk and wider Risk & Compliance team, supporting the firm’s regulatory and compliance framework across a broad range of matters.
Key Responsibilities for the Compliance Executive:
- Assist the Head of Risk with the day-to-day management of the firm’s compliance and regulatory obligations
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk and compliance policies and procedures
- Assist with monitoring compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations and other relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Support the firm’s conflicts, AML, client onboarding, and risk management processes where required
- Maintain accurate compliance records, registers, and reporting documentation
- Assist with preparing management information and compliance reports for senior stakeholders
- Monitor regulatory developments and assist with implementing changes to policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with teams across the business to promote a strong risk and compliance culture
Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience within a legal risk and compliance role, ideally gained within a law firm
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory obligations applicable to law firms
- Experience supporting AML, conflicts, client onboarding, or wider compliance processes would be advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and compliance systems
