Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Managing complex conflicts checks for new clients, matters, and lateral hires across multiple offices and jurisdictions.
  • Reviewing and interpreting conflict reports, identifying potential legal, commercial, and reputational risks, and assisting in the resolution process.
  • Carrying out client due diligence and AML checks in line with the firm’s policies and regulatory obligations.
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for fee earners and internal stakeholders in relation to conflicts, AML, and business acceptance queries.
  • Escalating high-risk or sensitive issues where appropriate and assisting with the provision of commercially focused guidance and recommendations.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, assisting with technical queries and day-to-day guidance.
  • Assisting with process improvement initiatives, policy implementation, and wider risk and compliance projects where required.

The successful candidate will have previous business acceptance, conflicts, or AML experience gained within a law firm environment, with the confidence to manage complex matters independently.
