Job Description
An international law firm is looking for an In House Lawyer (Client Terms) to join their London team.
The ideal candidate for this role would be an experienced in-house compliance professional, or fee earner looking to make a move in-house.
Key Responsibilities for the In House Lawyer (Client Terms) role:
- Provide legal advice and support on client engagement documentation, including reviewing and negotiating client-drafted terms such as Framework Agreements, Outside Counsel Guidelines, and amendments to the firm’s standard terms.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial arrangements including secondments, supplier contracts, and agreements linked to alternative legal service models.
- Assist with legal input on client-related materials such as RFPs, terms of engagement with professional service providers, and associated documentation.
- Oversee and support more junior lawyers working on client terms and related matters.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts across areas such as data privacy, insurance, conflicts, regulatory compliance, tax, and information security.
- Respond to broader risk-related enquiries, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal guidance across a range of practice and business areas.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training initiatives for internal teams, and support the development of junior colleagues.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to evolve internal processes, enhance collaboration across teams, and raise the profile of the legal risk team both internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor with 4+ years PQE.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts and client terms.
- Clear communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and explaining legal issues to non-lawyers.
- Proficient with MS Office and document management systems.
