An international law firm is looking for a Commercial Lawyer (In House) to join their in-house legal function in their Birmingham office. The ideal candidate for the Commercial Lawyer (In House) role will have a strong commercial awareness with a solid understanding of technology-related matters and demonstrable experience in data protection and privacy laws.
Key Responsibilities for the Commercial Lawyer (In House) role:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
- Support and lead third-party negotiations and commercial deal structuring.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks, compliance obligations, and business strategies.
- Develop and maintain standard templates, policies, and internal guidance.
- Provide legal input on new product launches, partnerships, and use of third-party technologies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws including data protection, privacy, and regulatory frameworks.
- Contribute to the development of legal risk management frameworks and training programmes.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 3–5 years’ PQE, ideally gained in-house or within a commercial team at a leading law firm.
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- High commercial awareness and the ability to align legal advice with strategic goals.
- Knowledge of data protection, privacy laws, and technology contracts preferred.
