An international law firm is looking for a Client Onboarding Manager to join their Team in either Belfast, Cardiff, Leeds or Manchester offices. The Client Onboarding Manager role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the client onboarding process, ensuring that new matters and clients are aligned with regulatory and internal compliance standards. The successful candidate will oversee the onboarding lifecycle and manage a team of analysts while contributing to the broader risk and compliance strategy.
Key Responsibilities for the Client Onboarding Manager role:
- Lead and coordinate the firm’s client and matter onboarding activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Manage a team of Risk & Compliance Analysts, providing mentorship and fostering professional growth.
- Serve as the first point of contact for conflict checks, sanctions assessments, and CDD/EDD reviews.
- Collaborate with partners and fee earners to provide guidance on client intake, regulatory frameworks, and firm policies.
- Deliver training sessions on risk-related topics, including onboarding and conflict procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments on new and ongoing clients and matters.
- Support the setup and maintenance of information barriers and other internal controls.
- Respond to client information requests related to compliance and onboarding.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in a compliance or risk function within a law firm or similar regulatory environment.
- Strong understanding of UK AML regulations and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Code of Conduct.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
- Familiarity with onboarding and document management systems (e.g., Intapp, NetDocs) is desirable, but training will be provided.
