Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Engagement: Work with globally renowned clients to understand their security requirements, risk profile, business objectives, and operational needs, taking responsibility for delivering technical outputs in line with agreed scope, quality, and programme.
  • Projects may involve multiple disciplines and operate within varying timeframes, ranging from accelerated programmes to multi-year developments.
  • Attend regular client and project meetings with senior project members, preparing accurate meeting notes that document relevant discussions, decisions, and actions.
  • Facilitate interactive workshops with clients and project stakeholders, in person or via video conference, to gather requirements, develop security designs, and align project objectives.
  • Challenge the status quo to help clients identify effective and proportionate security solutions for their workspaces and environments.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key external stakeholders, including project managers, consultants, contractors, and security manufacturers.
Design and Coordination:
  • Design and deliver integrated physical and electronic security systems, including CCTV and video analytics, access control architectures, intruder and perimeter protection systems, IP audio and video intercoms, security control rooms, and PSIM platforms, ensuring all systems are appropriately supported by secure and resilient IP connectivity where required.
  • Define system usage, user groups, operational workflows, alarm handling, and cause-and-effect strategies, undertaking camera coverage analysis, equipment selection, and detailed security system configuration design.
  • Identify, coordinate, and validate spatial, power, containment, cooling, and IP connectivity requirements necessary to support security systems, working closely with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and IT disciplines to ensure fully coordinated designs.
  • Collaborate with the wider Uncoded team to develop coordinated, multi-disciplinary security and technology packages, understanding when to lead design activities directly and when to delegate effectively within the team.
  • Produce comprehensive security tender design information.
  • Ensure security designs align with Secure by Design and Designing Out Crime principles, relevant BS EN and ISO standards, and recognised industry best practice from organisations such as ASIS and ISMI, applying CPTED methodology where appropriate.
Implementation and Oversight:
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of physical and electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder detection, intercoms, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant BS EN, ISO, and project-specific standards.
  • Review contractor proposals, technical submissions, and method statements to ensure alignment with design intent, specifications, and agreed scope of works.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess existing conditions, installation quality, and progress against programme, identifying and resolving issues in collaboration with the wider project team.
  • Coordinate with contractors, IT teams, and other disciplines to ensure security systems are correctly integrated with power, containment, and IP network infrastructure where required.
  • Uphold and apply drawing and documentation standards, including plans, elevations, schematics, and schedules, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the construction phase.
Support and Validation:
  • Support the validation of physical and electronic security systems through testing, commissioning, and handover activities, ensuring systems operate in line with design intent and agreed performance criteria.
  • Review and coordinate the production of security-related handover documentation, including CCTV and video analytics, access control systems, intruder and perimeter detection, intercom and IP-based security platforms.
  • Understanding of the power, containment, spatial, and IP connectivity requirements that support security systems.
