Are you an experienced Environment and Sustainability Compliance professional with a passion for environmental sustainability, health & safety, and continuous improvement?
We are seeking a proactive individual to take ownership of the integrated management systems, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives, helping to shape and deliver s long-term environmental strategy.

The Role
Reporting to the Estates & Facilities Manager, you will lead on environmental compliance and sustainability across the organisation.
You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining integrated management systems, ensuring legislative compliance, managing ISO accreditations, and delivering key environmental initiatives.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and external partners, you will provide expert guidance on environmental and health & safety matters while driving continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the organisation's lead contact for environmental compliance and sustainability matters.
- Monitor changes in health, safety and environmental legislation, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental sustainability across the organisation.
- Lead compliance with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), including implementation of recommendations.
- Prepare annual Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) submissions in line with reporting deadlines.
- Develop, implement and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Achieve and maintain ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 14064 and ISO 45001 accreditations.
- Deliver the Environmental Sustainability Action Plan and contribute to future sustainability strategies.
- Maintain and review environmental aspects and impacts registers.
- Analyse and report health, safety and environmental performance data to senior stakeholders.
- Implement recommendations arising from audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Develop and deliver environmental sustainability communications across the organisation.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinate environmental and health & safety training for employees.
- Support the organisation's long-term carbon reduction objectives.
- Engage suppliers and tenants to promote environmental best practice.
- Prepare and manage environmental sustainability budgets.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive continual improvement.
- Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery activities when required.
About You
You will be an experienced environmental and compliance professional who enjoys working collaboratively while driving positive change.
Essential
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant experience in Health & Safety Management.
- Membership of IEMA, IOSH or an equivalent professional body.
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining ISO management systems within environmental, health and safety disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a changing environment.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Experience managing ESOS submissions.
- Experience producing SECR reports.
- Knowledge of carbon reduction strategies and environmental reporting.
