Transport Logistics Planner – 6-Month FTC

Location: Essex

Salary: £37,400 per annum - if it goes Permanent will rise to £41,000

Contract: Six-month fixed-term contract, with potential to become permanent

We’re recruiting for a proactive Transport Logistics Planner to join a busy, essential-services operation based in Essex. This is a key role within the transport team, helping to plan and coordinate the movement of vehicles, drivers and deliveries to ensure an efficient, responsive service.

Working on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, you will alternate between:

  • Day shift: 8:00am–6:00pm
  • Mid shift: 12:00pm–10:00pm

You’ll be someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, can stay calm when plans change, and takes pride in finding practical solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and allocating daily transport routes and workloads
  • Coordinating drivers, vehicles and deliveries to meet customer requirements
  • Responding to changes, delays and operational issues in real time
  • Ensuring plans are commercially efficient and achievable
  • Communicating clearly with drivers, customers and internal operational teams
  • Updating planning systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting compliance with transport, driver-hours and company procedures
  • Identifying opportunities to improve routes, processes and overall service delivery

We’re looking for someone with previous route planning, transport coordination, logistics or operational scheduling experience. You’ll need strong organisational skills, confidence using systems and Excel, and the ability to make sensible decisions independently.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable planner looking for a stable contract with the potential to develop into a longer-term role.
