An international organisation is seeking an accountant to take ownership of the accounting, statutory reporting, tax compliance and financial control activities for a portfolio of Swiss legal entities. Based in London, this role will act as the primary finance contact for Switzerland, working closely with Shared Service Centres, local management teams, external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with both local and group requirements. Main Objectives
- Ensure financial results for Swiss legal entities are accurate and complete.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting activities, statutory filings and local tax compliance requirements.
- Support transfer pricing documentation in collaboration with external advisors.
- Ensure profit & loss and balance sheet reporting complies with both local GAAP and US GAAP requirements.
- Review and oversee reconciliations completed by Shared Service Centres, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of Swiss VAT, payroll tax and social security requirements.
- Build strong relationships with Shared Service Centres to ensure efficient finance operations.
- Support local management teams on finance, tax and compliance-related projects.
- Act as a key contact for auditors, tax advisors and other external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly close activities and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure accounting transactions are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements and group reporting packages in accordance with local GAAP and US GAAP.
- Manage VAT, payroll tax, corporate tax and other regulatory reporting obligations.
- Liaise closely with Shared Service Centres regarding accounting and administrative matters.
- Review, update and improve financial processes, controls and procedures.
- Support ERP implementation, integration and finance transformation initiatives.
- Assist with audit preparation and coordinate responses to internal and external audit requirements.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance and reporting quality.
About You
- You must have professional German language AND ERP implementation skills.
- Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role within an international and structured organisation.
- Experience working with Shared Service Centres.
- Experience supporting ERP integrations and finance transformation projects.
- Knowledge of Great Plains.
- Exposure to transfer pricing documentation and international tax matters.
