Are you a detail-driven Assistant Buyer with a passion for procurement, negotiation, and supporting projects? We are seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a varied, high-responsibility role supporting multi-disciplinary teams across projects.
About the Role:
You will support the end-to-end procurement process. You will assist in sourcing, negotiating, budgeting, and auditing, ensuring materials are procured professionally, and on budget. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and obtain competitive quotes, create cost comparisons, and raise recommendation sign-offs
- Maintain and update procurement schedules
- Prepare monthly cost-to-complete forecasts and contribute to cost report meetings
- Manage supplier performance and ensure product compliance with standards
- Support invoice authorisation, cost reporting, and procurement document control
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Demonstrable buying/procurement experience
- Financial awareness and cost management fundamentals
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and high organisational standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Email)
- Full UK driving licence
