As a Despatch Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and despatch of goods in a fast-paced production environment. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within a well-established company that values quality, safety, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for despatch according to customer specifications.
- Decanting, stock rotation, scanning, and labelling of goods.
- Ensure all goods are correctly labelled and documented.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of despatched items using warehouse management systems.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies before despatch.
- Follow departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) — training will be provided to ensure full compliance.
- Maintain a fast-paced working environment in line with production demands.
- Work collaboratively with the manager and team to achieve departmental targets.
- Promote and maintain Health, Safety, and Hygiene standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
- Liaise with couriers and transport teams to coordinate deliveries.
- Keep the despatch area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with stock control and inventory checks as required.
- Report any issues or delays to the Despatch Supervisor promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (desirable).
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Basic IT skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
Shift pattern:
Monday – Friday
9am – 5.40pm
Starting rate:
£12.71 per hour
