Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled consultant ready to step into a Senior Manager role, bringing a wealth of experience in data, marketing automation, and data activation. In this role, you’ll combine technical expertise with strong leadership abilities, managing client accounts, budgets, and teams while driving the delivery of strategic marketing solutions. You’ll be responsible for mapping customer journeys and designing automated workflows to optimise engagement across various stages of the customer lifecycle. A solid understanding of B2B sales and marketing, alongside experience in scoping and costing new client opportunities, will be essential. With a client-facing focus, you’ll confidently engage with senior stakeholders, including Heads of and C-suite executives, to deliver actionable insights and help drive business success.

A week in the life of a Principal Consultant at Mezzo Labs will look like:

  • Client Account Leadership: Lead weekly status calls with a large multinational client, covering project updates and budgets.
  • Customer Lifecycle Journey Planning: Visualise and present the customer journey lifecycle using tools like FigJam, collaborating with the client to strategize and create an actionable delivery plan.
  • Project Management: Capture and align team members to key client action items and manage deliverables to completion.
  • Technical Diagnostics: Conduct MAP audits and resolve data discrepancies, providing recommendations and solutions.
  • Reporting & Recommendations: Present findings and recommendations on deliverables to clients, identifying additional project opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to develop a 1-2 year roadmap for data activation and campaign targeting.
  • Team Collaboration: Build roadmaps with team input, leveraging each member’s expertise.
  • New Business Development: Attend prospective client meetings as the subject matter expert on analytics implementation.
  • Project Scoping: Develop scoping documents for new and existing client projects, including time, effort, and key assumptions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a small team, ensuring high performance, motivation, and continuous development.
  • Client Engagement & Growth: Identify further engagement opportunities and ensure annual contract renewals to drive revenue growth.
  • Client Satisfaction: Conduct mid-year client reviews and feedback sessions to ensure satisfaction.
  • Consulting Expertise: Act as the go-to consultant for senior marketing automation technology, advancing client and business success.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute LinkedIn posts bi-monthly on analytics trends and insights to support Mezzo Labs’ marketing.
  • Issue Resolution: Address difficult discussions with dissatisfied clients over quality, deadlines, or responsiveness, including potential cost adjustments or renewal decisions.

You are a proactive and self-motivated individual with a solid working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot, and a strong understanding of marketing automation platforms (MAPs) like Pardot, Marketo, or Eloqua. You should have knowledge of how to customise emails, landing pages, and forms using HTML and CSS, and familiarity with JavaScript for tracking and personalisation is a bonus. A good understanding of data legislation, including GDPR, is essential to ensure compliance in all marketing activities.

In addition to technical skills, we value strong behaviours that contribute to success in a client-facing role. You should be confident in communicating with senior stakeholders, whether through presentations or calls, and always seek out value-adding opportunities for clients. With the ability to multitask across multiple core clients, you’ll maintain discipline and focus while working independently and as part of a team. Collaboration is key, as you’ll be trusted to empower others and ensure smooth coordination across client projects.
