We have an opportunity to join the Engineering team at West Devon in Hatherleigh. We are looking for a skilled Engineer with electrical bias to support the production and site.

Hourly salary between £19.53 - £20.59 (pre overtime). Currently, the shift is operating from Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 15:00 based on a 40-hour working week. The Engineers are on a grading system which is skill dependent and will be discussed upon inquiry. 20 days basic holiday entitlement + the 8 bank holidays. Dunbia use NEST as the pension provider with auto enrolment at the 3-month point. Overtime is payable after 40 hours at a premium rate. There is a call out rota which is generally one week in 4. This is paid at a premium rate. We offer additional training to support Engineers in developing their skill set.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring plant equipment is operating and functioning correctly.
  • Proven Electrical / mechanical knowledge.
  • Building maintenance.
  • Stainless Steel fabrication TIG Welding an advantage.
  • Maintaining equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose.
  • Continually developing to improve operations to drive improvements in quality, cost and safety.
  • Assisting production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when appropriate.
  • Completing daily maintenance check sheets and job card.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, commitment and the ability to accept responsibility are key in this role.
  • Will be committed to working within the Company Mission, Vision & Values.
  • Food industry experience is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working at height.
