Reporting to the Group CFO, you will act as the financial architect and strategic lead for all UK Finance Reporting Systems. This is a high-impact, hybrid role focused on data storytelling and systems automation. Full ownership of divisional financial reporting while leading a digital transition—migrating legacy Excel workflows into robust, automated Power BI environments. You will sit on the Finance Executive Team, providing real-time data insights to support high-stakes decision-making and driving efficiencies through modern technology.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Architecture & Ownership: Design and implement a monthly and annual reporting suite, transitioning from static month-end 'decks' to live, automated dashboards.
  • Strategic Advisory: Sit on the Finance and Divisional Executive Teams, acting as a data-driven 'Co-Pilot' to contribute to the effective commercial running of the Division.
  • Systems Transformation: Continuously seek to dismantle manual legacy processes, replacing them with automated data pipelines using Power Query (M) and SQL.
  • Modern Planning: Working with MA team and Execs to deliver annual budgets and 3-year plans using driver-based, dynamic models (replacing manual spreadsheet entry).
  • Scenario Modelling: Empower the business to navigate uncertainty by building 'What-If' simulation tools in Power BI to model inflation, headcount, and market shifts.
  • Coaching & Upskilling: Working with the finance teams and mentoring them specifically in modern BI tools to build a 'tech-first' finance culture.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build successful relationships across the group, confidently presenting complex financial narratives to non-financial executive stakeholders.
  • Systems Integration, Control & Governance: Ensure the 'Single Source of Truth' by maintaining high data integrity between divisional operational systems and the core ERP.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria

  • Qualification: Attained a relevant professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Technical Stack: Operating at an advanced level within Power BI (DAX and Power Query are essential). High proficiency in Excel is assumed, but a 'Systems-First' mindset is required.
  • Data Modelling: Solid understanding of relational data modelling (Star Schema) and how to structure financial data for scale.
  • Change Management: Proven experience in seeking and implementing ways to improve current practice through automation or software implementation.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral skills; able to translate complex data architecture into simple, actionable business advice.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to 'positively challenge' business assumptions using data-backed evidence.

Other Attributes

  • Analytical Curiosity: A natural problem-solver who enjoys digging into the 'why' behind the numbers.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures that automated systems are as accurate as (or more accurate than) manual checks.
  • Growth Mindset: Displays a willingness to stay at the forefront of Finance AI (Copilot) and emerging BI trends.
  • Planning & Organisation: Able to balance 'Deep Work' (system building) with high-energy stakeholder partnering.
