We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Technician to join our team at the Liverpool plant for fixed term or permanent roles! In this hands‑on role, you’ll be at the heart of our production operations—running equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement. What will I be doing day to day?
- Operation of production equipment, in compliance with health and safety, GMP and best practice guidelines and procedures.
- Operation of production equipment in adherence to Company safety policy, rules and procedures, working within WISE (Working in a Safe Environment) framework, ensuring Safe Behaviour at all times.
- Identify and report health or safety hazards & dangerous situations and put appropriate control measures in place, raising safety contacts where unsafe acts or practices are identified.
- Carry out risk assessment as appropriate.
- Coordinate audits for good housekeeping/5S and complete follow‑up actions / proactive approach to ‘Clean as you go’.
- Ensure full adherence to quality procedures such as Critical Control Points, processes and standards in line with Quality Management System (QMS) & Danone Quality Food Standards.
- Perform and record in‑process checks to verify that all products produced meet product standards, maintain a clean workstation by employing a clean and you go mentality and maintain the highest standard of right first time.
- Responsible for maximizing production quality and output in their area.
- Perform product visual quality checks.
- Fully accountable for completion of documentation standards (inputs / scanning into MES system).
- Ensure the manufacture of product to specification at right time & cost ensuring Right First‑Time approach.
- Responsible for ensuring the maximized output is achieved in area.
- Responsible for driving direct and indirect KPIs.
- Anticipate problems in order to avoid impact to customer service.
About You
Previous experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with a sound understanding of GMP, HACCP and 5S is essential. The right person will be someone who wants to make a real impact in their job role, enjoys taking the initiative, coming up with new ideas and driving forward improvements. You’ll be self‑motivated, frequently looking to go above and beyond what is required, a flexible team worker with good communication skills, and able to remain vigilant and think on your feet to spot and solve problems whilst on the job.
We operate on a rotating 24/7 shift pattern. You’ll have a structured on‑boarding and learning programme when you commence. Starting salary is £26,026 & 33% shift allowance. Once you have completed this and demonstrated that you are fully competent you can expect to be earning a competitive salary of £29,459 & 33% shift allowance + bonus. We anticipate this to be within 6 months of your start date. You will also be eligible for our award‑winning flexible rewards and benefits package and excellent pension provision.
