Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and storing cattle and sheep in accordance with animal welfare best practice guidelines.
Responsibilities
The Role
- Unloading and transferring animals to holding pens prior to slaughter;
- Reading ear tags and allocating kill numbers;
- Checking permits and carrying out FCI and transport audits;
- Ensuring permits and information are correctly entered into the system;
- Assisting with the daily cleaning schedule in Lairage;
- Maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
Qualifications
The Person
- Possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent);
- Previous experience in cattle and sheep handling is essential;
- Knowledge of animal welfare best practices;
- Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team;
- IT Skills essential

This position operates on a Monday to Friday day shift basis.
