We currently have an opportunity for a permanent role for Shift Engineers within the Kettering Engineering team. As a Shift Engineer, you will be working from our manufacturing plant in Kettering. You will be at the front line, supporting the production team to keep the machines in running order whilst producing high-quality products and to be involved in planned maintenance when required. In this role, you will be expected to work in all areas of the factory including facilities and the waste water treatment plant when required; you will be expected to have a sense of urgency, when problems are identified they must be addressed immediately with a mindset of ‘right first time’.

About You

  • A time-served maintenance engineering background with a strong multi-skilled capability (electrical bias preferred)
  • Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent such as City & Guilds) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to identify root causes of machine breakdowns and implement effective, sustainable solutions
  • Proven experience in maintenance delivery within a manufacturing environment, ideally Food, Beverage or FMCG
  • Experience with packaging machinery and knowledge of sterilisation and filling processes (desirable)
  • Tetra / SPX experience (essential)
  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with systems such as SAP, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively, and to train and develop others where required
  • Good physical capability, as the role involves walking, lifting and working at height
