We fully intend to continue to build on these successes. All operational roles are instrumental to the Team winning in all areas especially health and safety.
The function of the role is to oversee the arrangement of packaging process of the product for the downstream equipment; to maintain the production process so that planned work continues whilst ensuring close monitoring of the equipment to ensure the quality, food safety, efficiency and safety of the area while delivering on the production plan. You are also responsible for the safe operation and troubleshooting of the facility’s equipment and instruments. Close working relationships between the DSE operator and other production functions are integral to the success of this role. You will become conversant with internal processes and structures such as DaMaWay, MES and using SQCDME Key Performance Indicators as a measure of success.
Candidate profile
- Be a good team member with strong communication skills
- Of a physical condition that can accommodate walking, steps and lifting (with lifting aids where appropriate)
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Have no allergies to products
- Be available for shift work including nights and weekends
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
- The ability to prioritise and think ahead
- Problem solving skills, the ability to solve technical, complex problems
Critical experience required
- GCSE standard or equivalent
- Be able to communicate in both written and verbal English
- Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
- Awareness of food allergen & basic food hygiene
- Working knowledge of IT systems such as MS Office
Desirable:
- Higher education qualifications or equivalent
- FLT licence
- COSHH Trained
- HACCP Trained
- Experience in continuous improvement practices
- Conversant with CIP (Clean In Place) processes
