We are currently seeking a highly motivated, career-minded individual who is keen to progress their career within Dunbia. Based at Dungannon, this individual will work as part of our existing food safety and quality teams with responsibility for site testing compliance, reporting to the site Food Safety & Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Daily management of the technical services department to ensure:
- Collection and testing of Chemical & microbiological sampling program for the site
- Collection or management and logging of samples sent externally for testing
- Review, authorisation and communication of all testing results including retests as required
- Generation and maintenance of relevant schedules and risk assessments to ensure testing as per customer and legal requirements
- Raising non-conformance alerts and review of responses as required
- Weekly / Monthly trending of testing results and generation of reports based on data
- Internal species and allergen testing using ELISA and rapid flow thorough test method
- Ownership and implementation of cleaning validation program for site
- Managing and maintaining all relevant documentation i.e. procedures, check sheets etc.
- Department training and support for relevant department personnel
- Management of stock items, consumables, test kits etc. for the FSQ department
- Correlation and presentation of documentation to auditors / visitors as required
- Other associated technical duties
Qualifications
Essential
- Excellent communication skills together with a can-do attitude
- Strong interpersonal skills as the role will involve interfacing with major retailers and other internal and external customers
- A high level of motivation, be career driven and self-disciplined with ability to meet strict deadlines
- Full clean driving licence
Desirable
- Experience working in a quality / technical role in the food industry
- Experience working in a microbiology / chemistry testing role within the food industry
- HACCP qualification at level 2 or above
