Overview

Are you looking to take the next step in your career? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join In.Comms, a new publication for in‑house and internal communications professionals, as deputy editor. We are looking for a reasonably experienced and credible journalist who is ambitious, good with people and a future editorial leader.

In.Comms is a new editorial title and professional hub for comms professionals in the UK and EMEA regions who work in‑house for organisations, including those responsible for external comms, corporate affairs, and with a particular emphasis on internal comms. Launched on 23 September 2025, In.Comms is a sister title to the now 40‑year‑old PRWeek UK. In.Comms features news, interviews, analysis, opinion and case studies distributed through its website, email bulletins and social media, alongside bespoke live events.

This will be a hands‑on role with a broad remit, covering everything from writing, commissioning and editing through to helping the editor to set the strategic direction of the publication and being a key face and voice for In.Comms at both our own and external events.

An essential part of this role will be driving the strategy and engagement within the internal communications sector, with both professionals in this area and the wider supporting industry.

  • Be a ‘hands‑on’ representative of the editor, making decisions in her absence
  • Develop strong relationships with key editorial, account management and commercial personnel
  • Assist the editor in hosting conferences, panel discussions, webinars, roundtables, podcasts and other live events

Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria

  • Previous experience working full‑time in an editorial role for an established media brand
  • Understanding of the marketing and communications industry, including proven experience of writing about the sector, would be a big advantage.
  • Preferably have some experience within the internal communications sector
  • Excellent writing, commissioning, editing and proofreading skills
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Adaptability and a willingness to take on different tasks
  • Willingness to collaborate with commercial, marketing and communications colleagues
