Responsibilities
- Oversee the procedures for receiving raw materials into intake; ensure all raw materials are to Company policy and customer specification.
- Plan the provision of storage facilities to meet requirements and make best use of storage space.
- Ensure all materials stored are within specification of critical limits and raw material intakes.
- Produce plans for the organisation of work schedules and workloads.
- Maintain a safe and controlled working environment, ensuring all staff fully understand and comply with company requirements regarding Health and Safety and Hygiene.
- Communicate effectively with the planning office to maintain the constant flow of products into the cutting room.
- Ensure the welfare of your staff and that employee relation issues are handled in line with company rules, regulations and procedures.
- Play a proactive part in the training and development of employees.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and action any issues raised.
- Ensure accurate levels of stock are issued to and from production.
- Provide daily accurate closing stock to the Intake/Despatch Manager.
- Ensure allergens are controlled via Company procedures.
- Take ownership and leadership of the Intake department.
- Maintain and run an efficient intake operation into production and goods in.
- Provide cover for the Intake Manager in their absence.
- Report any defects, damage and breakdowns in equipment to the departmental manager.
Qualifications
- Good level of communication to liaise with other departments within the business.
- Must be able to speak to a good level of English.
- Good organisational skills and being proactive.
- IT skills in Excel and emails is essential.
- Be flexible with working hours/days as holiday cover or additional working hours during busier periods may be required.
