Aptean is looking for an experienced Solutions Consultant (presales) to join our Retail ERP Sales team in the UK! As a Solutions Consultant specializing in Retail ERP Software, serving both retail and wholesale sectors within the UK, you will work with our Sales team and customers during the pre-sales phase. You will be performing surveys and discovery workshops with customers to develop a deeper understanding of how they operate and to determine their key software requirements. The position combines remote work with office presence in UK locations and requires proven experience in senior consultancy roles.

The Solutions Consultant is responsible for delivering expert guidance and support on Retail ERP Software solutions tailored to the specific needs of retail and wholesale businesses. This role demands a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and the ability to translate them into effective software implementations. Based in the UK, this position operates as a hybrid function, combining remote work with collaboration in UK offices and on-site customer visits, to ensure seamless client engagement and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with retail and wholesale clients to understand their business processes and requirements.
  • Showcase how Aptean’s Retail ERP Software solutions bring value by enhancing operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead software demonstrations and workshops, tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with sales, product development, and implementation teams to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing consultancy and support throughout the software lifecycle to maximize client satisfaction.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Ideally, you will have 3-5 years of proven experience as a Solutions Consultant (pre-sales) or in a relevant senior consultancy role within the ERP software domain.
  • Strong knowledge of Retail ERP Software platforms and their application in both retail and wholesale sectors.
  • Commercially aware with good understanding of solution sales methodologies, value messaging, pricing models, procurement processes and buying cycles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in an office or remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with UK-based teams.
  • Ideally, you will also be analytical with a good technical awareness, having the ability to break down complex technical concepts.
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver industry-specific solutions that address complex business challenges.
Location and Work Arrangement

This role is based in the UK and involves a hybrid working model, combining remote work with regular office attendance at UK locations as well as customer visits. There are occasional travel requirements associated with this position in the UK as well as abroad.
