Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Canteen Assistant for the canteen at our Highland Meats site in Saltcoats, Ayrshire. The person will be part of the canteen team reporting to the Canteen Supervisor and working in collaboration with the other canteen assistants. The Canteen Assistants are responsible for all canteen duties across the site on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, hygiene, ethical and allergen handling processes
- Ensure that all monitoring and records are maintained
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
- Ensure that stock is stored and rotated accordingly
- Ensure that the collection counting, receiving and submission of monies is undertaken within established internal control guidelines.
- Ensure consistent and timely attendance at work of self and team
Qualifications
- Good numeracy skills
- Attentive to detail
- Strong and effective team player
- Previous experience working in a canteen or food preparation preferable but not essential
Working Hours and Benefits

- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 28.5 hours per week
