3.5 LWB Van Driver in Birmingham

The primary purpose of this role is to provide support to the Company in the delivery and collection of Company equipment and sub-hires.

Qualifications

• UK issued valid driving license.
• A good working knowledge of the UK road network, in particular London and surrounding areas.
• Flexible working hours, including weekends, public holidays, early morning, late evening and overnight shifts are not unusual
• Ability to work independently and to be proactive.
• Previous logistics experience is desirable but a willing attitude to learn and take instruction is essential.
• Understanding of safe lifting practices.
• Good communication skills and willingness to co-operate with others.

Responsibilities

• Carry out driving duties as allocated by the Logistics department.
• Driving 3.5T company lwb vehicles as required by the demands of the business.
• Ensure Pre-safety checks are completed on the vehicles prior to leaving site, reporting any issues in the correct manner.
• Ensure deliveries and collections are completed within their allocated time slots.
• Complete and process all required paperwork.
• Abide by all traffic regulations regarding speed and vehicle dimensions.
• Submit details of hours worked to the logistics department.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles both internally and externally.
• Ensure you are available to be contacted safely whilst on driving duties (Hands free equipment provided)
• Report any issues that may cause delays to deliveries or collections.
• Adhere to safe loading practices when lifting and handling equipment.
• Ensure vehicle loads are safe, secure and within the load capacity of the vehicle.
• Be a point of contact for all transport issues in the absence of the UK Transport Operations Manager.
• Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner.
• Report any incidents and accidents to your manager promptly.
• Undertake additional projects as directed by the UK Transport Operations Manager.
