The role owns the end-to-end outreach function, building a prioritised action plan for the prospect pipeline and driving it through to conversion, with marketing experience used to support lead generation, content, and campaign activity. The Growth Manager also line manages two Outreach Managers and a Participant Engagement Coordinator, providing strategic direction, coaching, and oversight to ensure team targets are met.

About the UN Global Compact Network UK: We are a dynamic multi-stakeholder initiative, dedicated to connecting UK companies to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest responsible business initiative. The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact provide a robust foundation and comprehensive framework for corporate sustainability and business action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our mission is to champion sustainability leadership to create a world we want to live and do business in, by inspiring ambition, enabling impactful action, and collaborating to reshape the business environment for the better. Our work is guided by the core values of the UN – Integrity, Respect for Diversity, and Professionalism – alongside nine additional values and behaviours of the UN Global Compact.

Who we are looking for:

  • Must-haves
    • Business development experience: Experience in consultative sales, business development, or growth roles within professional services, sustainability advisory, or a corporate commercial function, with a track record of managing sales cycles and long-term account relationships.
    • Sustainability expertise: Knowledge of corporate sustainability, with the credibility to engage C-suite and senior business leaders and translate sustainability topics into compelling business propositions.
    • Communication and external presence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior audiences, lead external sessions, and represent the organisation credibly at events and in partner relationships.

  • Nice-to-haves
    • Marketing strategy and execution: Experience developing and executing lead-generating marketing strategies through digital channels, content marketing, and event-based outreach.
    • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, able to build buy-in internally and externally.
    • Comfort in managing multiple priorities across strategy, outreach, marketing, and people management in a fast-paced environment.

In your first 6 months: To help you settle quickly, we will provide a thorough and comprehensive onboarding. Through meetings with key colleagues and online training, we will help you to become familiar with our way of working and our value proposition.

  • Use Salesforce to produce regular pipeline reports, track KPIs, and provide growth updates and forecasting to senior leadership.
