Dagenham Halal Supermarket is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee all day-to-day store operations at their Muslim-owned halal cash-and-carry location in East London. You will lead a team in a fast-paced grocery retail environment serving the local community with halal-certified products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all store operations including opening/closing routines and sales floor oversight
- Direct inventory management: order, receive, and organize stock to maintain well-stocked shelves of halal goods
- Supervise and develop the store team through recruitment, training, and performance management
- Maintain high standards of customer service across the store
- Monitor sales performance and manage store budgets
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and trading laws applicable to halal food retail
Requirements:
- Proven retail management or supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated track record of managing teams
- Commercial acumen and ability to drive sales growth
- Sound business judgment in grocery retail operations
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required
