Join Muzz's backend engineering team as a Go Engineer. Muzz is the world's leading Muslim matrimonial platform, serving over 12 million members globally with a mission to help 2 billion Muslims meet and marry. Backed by Y Combinator and profitable, the company operates from London with a hybrid model offering flexibility for UK and European candidates.

In this role, you will architect and maintain high-performance backend systems handling tens of millions of API requests daily. Your responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining scalable APIs using Go, HTTP, and gRPC protocols
  • Designing and developing microservices architecture
  • Working with containerized AWS infrastructure, managing multi-database environments (MySQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis)
  • Creating event-driven systems that integrate machine learning capabilities
  • Processing and analyzing tens of millions of daily analytics events
  • Optimizing system performance and resolving bottlenecks
  • Troubleshooting distributed system challenges
  • Participating in on-call production support rotation
  • Building internal tools to streamline engineering operations

We are seeking engineers with:

  • 3+ years of production backend engineering in Go
  • Hands-on expertise with MySQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis
  • Proven experience designing and deploying microservices and distributed systems
  • Ability to drive features from requirements through production deployment
  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset

Bonus qualifications include familiarity with AWS cloud services (the team uses 40+ services), experience with machine learning technologies, and knowledge of WebSocket and XMPP protocols.
