Umega Home Repairs is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Edinburgh. We look after a large portfolio of properties, helping our tenants and landlords keep their homes in tip-top condition. No two days are the same, and this role would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is confident tackling a variety of maintenance jobs. You could be repairing a leaking tap in the morning, assembling furniture in the afternoon, carrying out some basic joinery or decorating, and finishing the day with a few general repairs.
We’re looking for someone with a good all-round maintenance skill set who is resourceful, takes pride in their work and has a practical “let’s figure it out” attitude. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team, with everything you need to do the job properly, including a company van, tools, uniform and smartphone.
Typical jobs could include:
- General DIY and property maintenance
- Basic electrical maintenance
- Basic joinery and carpentry
- Furniture assembly and installation
- Basic painting and decorating, including touch-ups and making good
- Replacing fixtures, fittings and hardware
- Carrying out general repairs around properties
- Identifying issues and finding practical solutions
- Communicating with tenants and keeping them updated on work
- Working alongside our wider maintenance team to keep properties in great condition
What We’re Looking For:
- A solid DIY skill set and experience in property maintenance
- Experience with basic plumbing, electrical maintenance and joinery

- A customer-focused approach – communication is key when working in people’s homes
