We're looking for a Junior Radiographer to join our clinic team. You'll perform diagnostic imaging procedures—primarily general X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures—while delivering compassionate, patient-centred care to a diverse local population. You will also assist the cross-sectional Imaging teams (CT/MRI) with day to day workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or early-career radiographer to develop clinical skills in a supportive, community-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general radiographic examinations (X-ray) according to clinical protocols and referral guidelines
- Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, reporting faults promptly
- Verify patient identity and ensure correct examination is performed
- Provide clear instructions to patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns
- Apply radiation protection principles for patients, staff, and yourself (ALARA)
- Process, evaluate, and archive images using PACS/RIS systems
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Assist with quality assurance and equipment calibration checks
- Collaborate with radiologists, referring clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adhere to infection control, health and safety, and clinical governance standards
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Radiography (or equivalent qualification)
- Right To Work in the UK
- Current registration with UK Regulatory Body (HCPC)
- Understanding of radiation safety regulations and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Previous clinical placement or experience in a community or outpatient setting
- Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems
- Competency and cannulation
