This is a new role where we are looking for someone with culinary and operational experience to support hospitality & culinary apprenticeship delivery.

Location: Remote with travel – mainly Kent and London
(Main Office: Chatham Dockyards, London-centric culinary partners)

What you\’ll do

As a Culinary Skills Coach, you\’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of the culinary profession by delivering outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment across chef and culinary apprenticeship pathways.

You\’ll:

  • Manage and develop a caseload of culinary apprentices and their employers
  • Deliver meaningful apprenticeship journeys including onboarding, teaching sessions, progress reviews, assessment, and feedback
  • Deliver engaging training sessions (in person and online) across culinary pathways from Level 2 to Level 4 Senior Culinary Chef, and Level 2 – 3 Hospitality apprenticeships.
  • Support learners to develop their English and Maths skills
  • Prepare learners for timely achievement and End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Act as a curriculum champion for culinary pathways, maintaining high industry standards, with the support of our existing culinary skills coach.

Who we\’re looking for:

  • Strong culinary industry experience, ideally at Sous Chef or Head Chef level
  • Experience gained in an established, accredited kitchen, ideally within a 4- or 5-star luxury environment
  • English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE A–C or equivalent)
  • Passion for developing people and sharing culinary expertise
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills
  • Experience in training, coaching, mentoring, or developing staff
  • Ability to manage deadlines, targets, and a diverse learner caseload

Desirable:

  • Industry qualifications at Level 3 or above
  • Teaching, Training or Vocational Assessment qualifications (or willingness to work towards)
  • Experience delivering training in the workplace or online
  • Knowledge of ESFA / Government-funded apprenticeship programmes
