Join the highly experienced team in County Durham that designs and manufactures cutting-edge, high-tech products for critical applications. They are now looking to expand the team by recruiting a Test Engineering Manager, or a Senior Test Engineer, ready to step into their first managerial role to provide leadership and direction to a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:- This role combines technical leadership with hands-on involvement in complex testing operations.
- Around 25% of the role focuses on team leadership (6 Test Engineers and Technicians) and people management, with the remaining 75% focused on technical execution and problem-solving.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and technical mentorship.
- Conduct performance appraisals, one-to-one meetings, and general team oversight.
- Set clear objectives, allocate tasks, and ensure work is delivered to the required standard and on time.
- Play an active role in the technical delivery of test operations.
- Drive test development and problem-solving initiatives.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
- Provision of test support to the R&D team and product engineering.
- Use bespoke simulation software integrated with test platforms.
- Apply LabVIEW and Python in test development and automation tasks.
- Current role as a Test Engineering Manager or Senior Test Engineer stepping up into a managerial position.
- Product and industry experience: RF & Microwave, Semiconductor, Electronics, or High-speed Analogue Electronics as well as someone who is working in Academia.
- Education: HNC/HND or degree preferred, though apprenticeship and shop-floor experience are also valuable; a background in physics/physical sciences, mathematics, or electrical/electronic engineering is desirable.
- LabVIEW or Python are the preferred tools, but other programming languages are also considered.
- Must have experience in test development.
- Based in or willing to relocate to County Durham.
