The digital economy doesn’t run on infrastructure alone. It runs on relationships! Right now, a rapidly expanding European data centre platform is scaling its footprint at serious pace! Growth of this magnitude creates opportunity for the right individual. But it also creates complexity. This is why this business is now looking for a high-calibre Account Manager to step in, take ownership of an established customer base, and ensure those relationships are not only protected but also grown.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You will inherit a live portfolio of existing colocation customers across enterprise and retail environments. The revenue is already there. Your role is to protect it, strengthen it, and grow it. You will:
- Take ownership of a defined customer portfolio
- Build deeper relationships with existing clients
- Protect recurring revenue and minimise churn
- Identify expansion opportunities within the installed base
- Ensure customers are properly supported internally
- Bring structure and organisation to a busy account environment
Some accounts will be straightforward “rack and run-rate” relationships. Others will involve more complex commercial engagement with infrastructure stakeholders. Your success will come from being present, credible, organised and commercially aware.
WHAT YOU WILL BE STEPPING INTO
This is a high-growth colocation business backed by serious investment capital. They are building a platform designed around urban digital infrastructure and enterprise connectivity, supporting organisations navigating hybrid cloud, AI workloads and evolving infrastructure strategies. In practical terms, that means:
- A fast-growing operational footprint
- A sizeable inherited customer base
- Significant opportunity for account expansion
- A leadership team committed to building a serious commercial organisation
The foundation is there. Now they need someone who can take control of the relationships and build on it.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
You do not need to come directly from the data centre sector. BUT this is naturally preferred... You do need to understand commercial account ownership in a recurring-revenue environment. You will likely have experience in areas such as:
- Data centre colocation
- Telecoms or connectivity providers
- Hosting or cloud services
- Managed infrastructure or IT services
- Technology account management roles with service-led revenue
More importantly, you will demonstrate:
- Experience managing an existing account base
- Evidence of retention, upsell or cross-sell success
- Confidence managing multiple customers simultaneously
- Credibility with technical and infrastructure stakeholders
- The ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
This role is about commercial maturity, relationship ownership, and operational discipline.
WHO YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH
Externally, you will engage with professionals such as:
- IT Directors
- Network Directors
- Infrastructure Managers
- Capacity planners
- Technical stakeholders responsible for digital infrastructure
This is relationship-led commercial leadership, not boardroom pitching.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Digital infrastructure is entering a once-in-a-generation growth cycle driven by AI, cloud adoption and enterprise digitisation. But platforms don’t grow because of buildings alone. They grow because customers stay, expand, and trust the partner delivering the infrastructure. This role sits right at the centre of that dynamic.
PACKAGE
Base salary circa £85,000 – £90,000 OTE broadly aligned to double base salary. Flexible UK location London HQ touchpoint, but not office-heavy.
