GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of the Office of Program Development and Enterprise PMO (OPD-EPMO), the Senior Project Director is responsible for all aspects of managing large, complex, high-stakes, high-visibility, interdivisional projects involving multiple support units and internal and external stakeholders.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage assigned projects within the guidelines and methodology prescribed in the CWM Project Management Guide.
- Define clear project statements.
- Gather appropriate project requirements.
- Determine, manage and coordinate sponsor’s project resources needs.
- Develop detailed project plans, communication plans, risk plans, and quality plans to deliver assigned projects successfully i.e. on time, within budget and to scope.
- Manage to all plans listed above and report variance to key stakeholders.
- Schedule, facilitate and manage project team meetings, tracking all tasks and action items.
- Facilitate and support project team building activities.
- Provide regular status reports to the Executive Director of the OPD-EPMO.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion.
- Manage the details and organization of very complex projects.
- Ensure that project teams follow proper procedures for issue management, risk management, quality assurance and change management process.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or 5 years of project management experience managing projects of all sizes, complexity and duration including professional, administrative, supervisory or management experience, or equivalent.
- PMP certification desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge in developing, writing and delivering training.
- Ability to define and implement collection of measures and creation of metrics. Knowledge of Quality Assurance as it relates to a project’s life cycle.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: The Senior Project Director reports to the Executive Director of the OPD-EPMO and consults with and receives input on a regular basis from Executive Staff on project priorities and management strategies.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: The Senior PMO Project Director provides support and guidance to associate project managers and project team members.
